Design and the environment
3. Exhibition
Domestic culture is the main theme of this year’s exhibition. We propose a spatial curation of how the “Garage” and “Basement” could enable us to ‘design and make’ in our domestic spaces.
How do these spaces function in shaping a more sustainable society? How did these type of spaces function in vernacular houses? And why are these spaces rarely found in today’s homes? Spaces used for cultural events, gathering, business start-up, workshop, training/practice, healing/fitness, creativity, and survival.
Could we contribute to a better societal, economical and cultural sustainability by rethinking our domestic spaces?
We are looking for contributions for our show “Domestic Culture” and any relevant materials related to the theme of the show is welcomed. This could be in the form of drawings, objects, film, research; we are open to your interpretation.
